GREGORY A. LANG
PRESIDENT & CEO

Mr. Greg Lang is NOVAGOLD's President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Lang has over 40 years of diverse experience in mine operations, project development and evaluations, including time as President of Barrick Gold North America, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Barrick Gold Corporation. Mr. Lang has held progressively responsible operating and project development positions over his 10-year tenure with Barrick and, prior to that, with Homestake Mining Company and International Corona Corporation, both of which are now part of Barrick. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla and is a Graduate of the Stanford University Executive Program. 

DAVID OTTEWELL, CA
VICE PRESIDENT AND CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Mr. David Ottewell is Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of NOVAGOLD, responsible for all aspects of the Company’s financial management.  Mr. Ottewell is a highly accomplished financial executive, with over 35 years of mining industry experience. Prior to joining NOVAGOLD, he served as Vice President and Controller for Newmont Mining Corporation where he was employed since 2005, and prior to that, had a 16-year career with Echo Bay Mines Ltd., a prominent precious metals mining company with multiple operations in the Americas. Mr. Ottewell holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta and is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta.

RICHARD WILLIAMS
VICE PRESIDENT & CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Mr. Richard Williams is Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of NOVAGOLD, responsible for all aspects related to the engineering and technical advancement of the Company's flagship Donlin Gold Project in Alaska. Mr. Williams spent over 30 years with Barrick Gold developing and operating major mines. He is a highly knowledgeable and experienced leader in autoclave technology which is planned to be used to process ores at Donlin Gold. Most recently, he served as Project Director of the Pueblo Viejo project in the Dominican Republic. Mr. Williams seven year tenure at Pueblo Viejo capped a career where he progressively held top operating roles which included the design, construction and operation of mineral processing facilities of major mines such as Goldstrike in Nevada and Mercur in Utah. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas and is a member of the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers, along with a member of Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy, and Petroleum (CIM).

MÉLANIE HENNESSEY
VICE PRESIDENT, CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS

Ms. Mélanie Hennessey is NOVAGOLD's Vice President, Corporate Communications, responsible for all aspects of the Company's internal and external communications functions and investor relations activities. Ms. Hennessey has extensive experience within the precious metals mining industry particularly in investor relations, corporate communications, crisis management as well as mergers and acquisitions. She is a public speaker advocating for stakeholder engagement, the advancement of individuals aspiring to executive-level positions and women in leadership roles. Prior to joining the Company, she served in a variety of executive and senior roles with such precious metals companies as Goldcorp Inc., New Gold Inc., and Hecla Mining Company. Ms. Hennessey holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Ottawa.

RON RIMELMAN, B.SC.
VICE PRESIDENT, ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH, SAFETY & SUSTAINABILITY

Mr. Ron Rimelman worked as a consultant to NOVAGOLD for 18 months prior to joining the Company in 2011. He is the Vice President, Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability. With over 35 years of environmental experience, Mr. Rimelman has managed environmental impact assessments and permitting activities for mines around the world, with a focus in Alaska and other northern climates. His most recent position was Vice President Environmental Services for Tetra Tech Inc., where he coordinated the natural resources group and took the lead on a range of projects, including preparing environmental impact statements for the Kensington and Red Dog Mines in Alaska. Mr. Rimelman also has extensive experience with mine permitting and water resource analysis, as well as financial and personnel management.

BEN MACHLIS
VICE PRESIDENT & GENERAL COUNSEL

Mr. Ben Machlis is an experienced natural resources and environmental attorney. Prior to joining NOVAGOLD, he served as a partner at Dorsey & Whitney where he chaired its regulatory affairs practice group, which houses its natural resources, energy, environmental, cybersecurity, workplace safety, and telecom attorneys and represented mining, renewable development, and other industrial companies on permitting, project development, operational compliance, closure, and remediation issues. Prior to Dorsey & Whitney, Ben was with the law firm Holland & Hart and served as an environmental policy advisor at the Utah Governor's Office. He received his undergraduate and J.D. degrees from the University of Utah.

TRICIA PANNIER
CORPORATE SECRETARY

Ms. Tricia Pannier joined NOVAGOLD in 2013 and has been the Company’s Corporate Secretary since January 2017. She is also the Director of Human Resources and Corporate and Regulatory Compliance. Prior to that she served as Director of Unishippers’ Legal and Human Resources Departments and has worked in various legal and human resources capacities at other Salt Lake City-based companies such as Summit Family Restaurants, Parsons Behle & Latimer and Bonneville Pacific over her 25-plus year career. Ms. Pannier earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Utah, and completed the Paralegal Certificate Program formerly offered by Westminster College. She holds the SPHR and SHRM-SCP designations.
