Community Investment
At Donlin Gold, our community investment strategy is designed to meet the unique needs of the Y-K region, guided by our core principles of inclusivity and transparency. We actively collaborate with local stakeholders to understand potential impacts and align with their vision for sustainable development. Through this partnership, we prioritize initiatives that create lasting, self-sustaining legacies and enhance livelihoods.
Our commitment extends beyond the mine itself—we honor traditional practices, uphold ecological responsibility, and support the well-being of the communities where many of our employees live. From funding youth sports and scholarships to contributing to search and rescue efforts, our investments help build stronger, more resilient communities while fostering economic opportunity.
We also recognize the importance of long-term prosperity. Through the revenue-sharing framework established by ANCSA, Section 7(i) ensures that 70% of net revenues from resource development are shared among regional corporations, while Section 7(j) directs a portion of these funds to village corporations. This structure amplifies the economic benefits of projects like Donlin Gold across a broader network of Alaska Indigenous communities, helping to secure sustainable opportunities for generations to come.
